OSP Series - Integrating Sphere : Post HolderIntroduction
Integrating Spheres generally function as a light collector. The collected light can be used as a diffuse illumination source or as a measurement source. The basic principle of operation is that light enters the integrating sphere through the sample port, goes through multiple reflections and is scattered uniformly around the interior of the sphere. A photo detector which is placed at the port in the sphere wall sees an output which is completely independent of the angular properties of the input light. A baffle placed inside the sphere, is used to prevent the detector from directly viewing the "hot" spot where the input beam of the source initially strikes the sphere wall. The inside of the integrating spheres are made out of highly reflective diffuse material; that gives a light diffuse reflection (>98%) over a wide wavelength range (200-1800nm), covering UV, VIS, and NIR spectral regions.

How to select the Right Sphere?
There are several key points users must take into consideration before choosing the right sphere.
(1) Knowing the ratio of your sphere diameter VS testing object
The Sphere's diameter need to be twice the length of your testing object
(2) Knowing the maximum surface opening tolerance
The surface opening should be no larger than 5% of the total surface area. When exceed, a lager sphere should be selected instead.

OSP 1.0 - Spectrometers : Post HolderIntroduction
The OSP1.0 is a miniature spectrometer. It offers a high performance to cost ratio for new system designs. The OSP1.0 can accept light directly through its built-in slit or via optical fiber. A durable, aluminum housing encloses the SMUSB optical bench; through careful design this housing provides stable device operation over a wide range of temperature.
The spectrometer sensor array and array driver electronics are mounted inside the OSP1.0 housing, from there a flex cable connects to exterior support electronics. The standard sensor array used is the Sony. The driver electronics have been designed for highly sensitive yet stable operation.
Software support includes custom DLLS for dedicated applications development and Windows based spectral acquisition and analysis software.
